History as told by the atheist
Apparently there was once was a man who said:
“Money, money, money,
I want it.
I will set up a business,
a global institution.
I’ll call it religion
and I shall make myself
a prophet profit.

You nailed it! Now just help me understand where the genetic code came from and I’ll have total peace of mind.
I kinda take your point, but on the other hand I’m trying to remember how many of Jesus’ twelve disciples died rich. Or even with his boots off, for that matter.

Dear Mairi,
You have hit the nail on the head.
What I am saying, as a believer in God myself, is that this is how religion is viewed by those from the opposite perspective. It is not a perspective I can relate to but is one I am surrounded by. Unfortunately, followers of various religions give people valid reasons to believe religion was invented to manipulate people.
Well, a fair number of them do seem to get taken over by such people, somewhere down the line…
